Mindfulness Meditations

Weekly Mindfulness Guided Practices

Mindful awareness is about learning to pay attention, in the present moment, with attitudes of openness, curiosity and care.

There is extensive scientific evidence that mindfulness training is effective in reducing stress, anxiety and depression, producing changes in the areas of the brain associated with decision-making, attention and empathy.

By practicing mindfulness, we can transform how we relate to events and experiences, allowing a more spacious way of being in the world that is less reactive and more present in our lives.

Now, weekly mindfulness meditation sessions are open to anyone - no prior knowledge is needed -wishing to develop and sustain a regular mindfulness meditation practice. Every week, we will explore a theme (5 mins) and practice together a mindfulness meditation (10-15 mins).

The sessions take place every Thursday at 9:30 for 20 minutes on MS Teams,  just click here to join.

Sessions will be guided by Mara Lisa Arizaga who is a certified Mindfulness instructor.

Before joining, we recommend that you watch this introductory video about Mindfulness.

The classes are offered by a OHCHR staff member and are made available to the Self Care Club.
